Małe pudełeczko o funkcji amuletu w kształcie ropuchy. Służyło do przechowywania drobnych przedmiotów o charakterze duchowym lub talizmanów. Technika i styl wykonania nawiązuje do tradycji rzemieślniczych dynastii Qing.
Ropucha (蟾蜍, chánchú) ma głębokie znaczenie symboliczne w chińskim folklorze oraz kosmologii taoistycznej, będąc potężnym symbole, transformacji, ochrony i długowieczności. ​​Często kojarzona z księżycem oraz boginią księżyca Chang'e, ropucha ma posiadać moce regeneracyjne. Z drugiej strony, figurka ropuchy jest także talizmanem przyciągającym bogactwo (金蟾, jīnchán), jako że jest uważana za mityczne stworzenie, które przynosi fortunę i szczęście.

A small, lidded amulet box fashioned in the shape of a toad. Made from silver with an interior compartment likely intended for storing ritual items or protective charms.
